Bethany House is the first emergency shelter to open on Long Island. It is a loving shelter for
women and children who are homeless. It was established in 1978 by the Dominican Sisters of
Amityville and is a non-sectarian not-for-profit organization consisting of homelike residences for
homeless families, particularly families with special needs.

An organization dedicated to the preservation of Aviation History on Long Island.
- Personally responsible for effectuating the change of name of the Suffolk County Airport to
the Col. Francis S. Gabreski Airport to honor our Nation's leading Fighter Pilot Ace.
- Personally responsible for creating a strategic historic partnership between the Long Island
Early Fliers Club, Inc., and Nassau County's Cradle of Aviation Museum with a $250,000.00
grant from the Fliers that is to underwrite displays and programs scheduled at the Cradle of
Aviation Museum, located in Uniondale, NY
