Gerard Hanshe and his father Joseph Hanshe are the founders and sole partners of Hanshe & Hanshe, PLLC.
Gerard was admitted to practice law in Second Judicial Department of the State of New York on January 10,
2007. After graduating from St. John’s University Law School on the Dean’s List, Gerard joined his father in his
newly formed law firm, thus changing Joseph A. Hanshe, PLLC into Hanshe & Hanshe, PLLC.
Before deciding to attend Law School, Gerard worked for five years in the operations, accounting and finance
departments of several Manhattan equities trading firms, where he gained valuable experience he brings with
him to the practice of law. He worked with his father throughout law school, helping to manage cases and
draft legal documents, including five Appellate Division Second Department appeals from family and criminal law
decisions.
Gerard is a Long Islander born, raised, and educated…something of which he is very proud. He grew up in
Levittown and attended Chaminade High School in Mineola (’95), Hofstra University in Hempstead and St.
John's University Law School in Jamaica, Queens. He is an avid golfer and loves to spend his time exploring the
beaches, parks and museums of Long Island.
